Please Welcome Dr. Raymond Sekula!
We are so excited to announce that Dr. Raymond Sekula has joined Columbia Neurosurgery as Professor of Neurological Surgery at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Dr. Sekula specializes in minimally invasive cranial nerve and skull base treatment. More specifically, the treatment of cranial nerve disorders (i.e., including trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, glossopharyngeal neuralgia), acoustic neuroma, other skull base disorders, and endoscopic management of intraventricular tumors. He was previously Residency Program Director and Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from The University of Virginia and his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Sekula completed his residency and fellowship training in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Each year, Dr. Sekula performs more than 500 neurosurgical operations, including 200 microvascular decompressions. During his career, he has performed more than 2,000 microvascular decompression surgeries.
